Selecting linens for your wedding is one of the most important tasks when planning your reception, since it can set the tone for the visuals. This week Scott, our wedding planner, and I traveled to Newport to being the process of selecting the linens for my upcoming nuptials. This trip was an eye opening experience. Below are the tips I gained from using a wedding planner when selecting the linens for your wedding:
Pictures do not do linens justice
1. Linens pictured on Pinterest look much different in person and when placed on an actual table. Always ask your vendor to setup a few looks for you to view in person.
Make sure to have choices
2. Certain colors such as yellow, which I thought would be beautiful actually ended up looking like a terrible green color when accompanied with an overlay. Ask the vendor to have not only have specific colors for you to view at your appointment, but shades of the colors, in different fabrics.
3. Never be afraid to ask about the price of something that appears to be expensive. The linens that I thought would be most expensive were actually not and fit perfectly in our budget. You can never ask too many questions.
Each vendor appointment reinforces how valuable is it having a personal Wedding Concierge guiding me in the planning process. Every bride and groom should seek out the help of a profession planner. With out the help of Scott Connery, the I Do Just Weddings Chief Wedding Concierge, my Pinterest boards would never come to life for my special day.
